Hello and welcome to Switzerland!

So cool you will be a part of the Encounter 2015.

You will meet more than 60 other young people from 11 different countries to work daily on our theme “Eyes full of colours and secrets” together in theatre/drama workshops under the lead of professional drama teachers.

Teaching language will be English and you should at least be able to understand and express yourselves sufficiently – you don’t have to be an expert.

There will be cultural/touristic activities, there will be free time to spend on the location, have a swim in the river Rhine, light a fire outdoors in the evening and just have a good time.

On the national evening you’ll have the opportunity to present your country on stage and on the country fair you can swap little typical items you brought from home with all the others. An easy and fun way to get to know each other.

The final performance will take place outdoors on Fronwagplatz in Schaffhausen, in the medieval centre of town – and it will show what you have achieved during these two weeks. It is not a competition but a reward for the concentrated work you’ll have done.

You don’t have to bring stage experience. You will have to be open minded towards all the other participants and their theatrical approach. It is essential that you are tolerant and empathic as you expect the same from your co-participants. We will welcome ethnical, religious, political and cultural differences as an enrichment of life – eyes full of colours and secrets!

The accomodation is not a first class hotel but a meeting and workshop centre that will be quite full with all of us. So be aware that you have to arrange yourselves with a rather confined space. Most of the beds are just mattresses in dormitories. There won’t be lots of store space and the showers can be in another house. But the place is very nice and since the weather will hopefully be fine in summer we can spent a lot of time outdoors.
